Laura’s April and May 2023 Reading
April was a good month in terms of books and reading, even if my pages read weren’t that impressive. It’s been beautiful outside so we’ve visited lots of parks and little free libraries. Grandma Wanda came to town, which means little boy got lots of extra books read to him. Our library finished up storytimes for the spring and got rid of fines!! We are looking forward to summer reading programming, but May is an in-between time.
The Grown Up Picture Books Club read Peter H. Reynolds books in April. I think my favorite was Guyku (illustrations by Reynolds) and a close runner up with either The Dot or Ish (written and illustrations by Reynolds).
May was a good reading month, too! I read quite a few grown up books, including a mystery and a literary fiction book, which was a change of pace for me. We traveled to Branson as a family, which was a lot of fun. We also went to the summer reading program kick off. The #grownupspicturebookclub selection for May was Mr. McCloskey’s Marvelous Mallards, which is about the author illustrator of Make Way for Ducklings. It was delightful.
You can check out the full list of books here:
And I did an Instagram Live talking about the books as well:
With lots of literary love from my library to yours!
